Whilst listening to Radio 2 this week, Steve Wright mentioned in one of his Factoids that vanilla can help with controlling weight gain. Further research found at www.livestrong.com says ‘Vanilla is known for its place in frosting, baking and ice cream, things not usually associated with weight loss. While eating lots of vanilla products may not help you lose weight, or even lead to weight gain, smelling its aromatic fragrance possibly can.’ Click here to read more.
It’s that time of year, Christmas parties and drinks followed by work the next day. How many of us will be suffering from a bit of a hangover at some point this month?

Spotted on the supermarket shelves this week is a new flavour from Haagen-Dazs: Honey, Walnut and Cream Ice Cream. If you haven’t got time to make your own ice cream this weekend, Haagen Dazs is a good alternative for a beautifully creamy and good quality ice cream. Available at Sainsbury’s and it’s on promotion at £2.50. Nice flavour combo! I think we might try some more nice, nutty flavours here at Loveicecream’s HQ over the next few weeks. More info here.
An article last week published in The Telegraph by
explains how Yoshihiko Koga, a professor at Tokyo’s Kyorin University, has carried out a series of clinical trials in which test subjects were required to eat ice cream for breakfast immediately after waking up.
