How about an ice cream instead of a coffee?
It might be the middle of September but with the high temperatures and sunshine we’re having it still feels like Summer. So, why not go for an ice cream instead of a coffee this week? Go with friends, instead of meeting up for a coffee meet up for an ice cream. Try your local park, specialist ice cream parlour or gelateria which are popping up all over the place. A farm shop with a cafe could be another good place to try.
Here on the edge of the Cotswolds we’re spoilt for choice but I bet a google search of places to eat ice cream in your part of the world will give you some great options too. Let us know where you go and what you try! If you are in Cheltenham I recommend the Central Cross Cafe in Pittville Park and in London next week I’m going to call into Ruby Violet‘s for a basil and lemon ice cream or a maxi moo moo, can’t decide…
You don’t have to go with friends either, you could always spontaneously go on your own. I remember sitting in the park during a work lunch break, all on my own with an ice cream. It was a crazy day, I was working for an advertising agency and we had more jobs to get through the studio than hours in the day or designers in the studio. Fraught would be a polite way of describing it! I took myself out of the office, for a bit of fresh air, turned left and found myself in the park. It was full of parents with their preschool children and older people walking their dogs. I had a strawberry and clotted cream ice cream, did a little people watching and went back to work much happier and calmer than I had been that morning! Never underestimate the power of ice cream for lifting your mood!
